After the confrontation with God in the Garden of Eden, God changed Lucifer’s name to Satan. And from Eve’s offspring would eventually come Jesus Christ The Messiah. Although Christ would come in human-form to wash away all sins of mankind, Satan would try to destroy Christ through the crucifixion but only to fail, as Christ rose from the dead. Even today, Satan’s system is alive on Earth built on…

Story of Adam and Eve – “Christ The Messiah-God’s Plan” [Transcript]

Now What God is saying to Lucifer here, whose name He now changed to ‘Satan’ which literally means ‘adversary’, is that from Eves offspring would eventually come one (Christ the Messiah) who would destroy him, which is what the phrase “He shall bruise your head” implies. However, the verse also predicts that Satan would be able to “bruise His heel”. What this simply implies is that Satan would try to destroy Christ at His appearing (the crucifixion), but would not succeed because Christ would rise from the dead, and in the process pay the price for Adam and Eve’s disobedience. These words caused Satan to tremble. While he could not understand all of the implications of the curse God had just placed upon him, Satan knew that God was not going to allow him to thwart His plans of creating a race of Kings and Priests. Satan’s hatred for God was then aimed and the human race. He purposed to destroy as many of God’s people as he possibly could, by getting them to subscribe to his system of self-exaltation, and choosing to reject the laws of God in exchange for being their own gods.

For the past six thousand years, we have experienced the results of Satan’s system on the earth. A system whose foundation lies in the principles of deception, selfishness, self promotion, self-exaltation, competition, and ultimately eternal separation from God. Satan is well aware that existence as he knows it will soon end with him and his followers (both angels and human) cast forever into a place that God has created expressly for them. A place that God calls “The Lake of Fire”, where they will be tormented day and night throughout all eternity.

The good news, or “The Gospel” if you will, is that Jesus Christ paid the price of the death penalty for every human being who has ever lived. By His sacrifice on the Cross, Jesus placed every human being back into the same position that Adam and Eve were in before they disobeyed God. All men have the same choice to make. To remain loyal to God, and acknowledge Him as their Lord and savior, or choose once again to side with Satan and elect instead to be our own gods, even if it means eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. The choice is ours. We can live with God forever, inherit all things, and be seated with Christ as a King and a Priest over all the works of His hands forever, or be our own gods and live forever in never-ending destruction with Satan and his angels.

Garden Of Eden: God Confronts Adam and Eve [Transcript]

Eve bought into the serpents lie and ate the fruit of the tree. Adam in turn also believed the serpent and ate the fruit of the tree as well. God of course observed the entire encounter, and came into the Garden to confront Adam and Eve. And that encounter went something like this.

“They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

So Adam replied, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

And He (God) said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate.”

And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”  (Genesis3:8-13 NKJV)

There are several interesting points worth noting in this encounter between God and Adam and Eve. First, notice the immediate effects of sin as Adam replies to God’s questions. When asked if he had eaten the fruit from the tree which God commanded them not to eat, Adam’s immediate instinct is to pass the blame unto God and then the woman God had given to be with him.

“Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate.”

Then, when God turns to Eve and says “What is this you have done?” Eve tries to pass the blame unto the serpent.

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Notice that neither of them threw themselves upon God’s mercy or asked His  forgiveness or even admitted they done anything wrong. Instead, they attempted to justify their behavior by trying to pass the blame onto everyone present except themselves.

Lucifer was elated. He reasoned that now that Adam and Eve and been disobedient to God, God would have only two choices in this dilemma. He could of course forgive Adam and Eve, thus illustrating that He could arbitrarily set His Word and his law aside anytime it pleased Him, or more likely, He would follow through on His word and withdraw His Spirit from them causing them to “surely die” forever.

However, there was a third alternative that Lucifer could not have foreseen. God did several things at that juncture. First, God addresses the serpent as well as Lucifer, who was possessing the serpent. He first pronounces a curse on the serpent because it was the animal of choice Lucifer used to deceive Adam and Eve. He then proceeds to address Lucifer directly and He makes the following statement:

“I will put enmity (an enemy) between you and the woman, and between your seed, and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you will bruise His heel.” (Genesis 3:15 NKJV)

Story Of Adam and Eve – “Lucifer’s Plan In The Garden” [Transcript]

The Bible doesn’t tell us why Adam and Eve made the decision to go to the tree. Perhaps at first, just curiosity. But for whatever their reasons they had, they ventured to that part of the Garden of Eden where the Tree of Knowledge stood. It bares repetition, that Adam and Eve were warned about God’s enemy and about the rebellion that was taking place throughout all creation. The most beautiful and majestic of all the angels God had created pitted himself against God in an attempt to over throw Him and His government, and ultimately Lucifer’s plan was to replace God as the ruler over all creation.

Lucifer knew that if Adam and Eve came to the tree, they would immediately recognize him as the one God had warned them about. He reasoned that if he failed to persuade Adam and Eve to side with him, his cause would be forever lost. Unwilling to take this chance, Lucifer devised a plan which he believed would place him in a “no lose” situation. He would not appear to them in his true form and risk them fleeing from his presence because they were that there was this magnificent angel that had become God’s enemy. Instead, he inhabited the body of a serpent, which at the time was not the repulsive slimy reptile that they appear to be today. This serpent was magnificent creature to behold.

Thus, Lucifer chose not to present his case to Adam and Eve on the basis of its own merit. But rather than risk rejection, he would employ a tactic that was virtually unknown anywhere in God’s creation. He would use deception and trickery (something that he himself created), to get Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge.

Having been given the job of naming all the animals that God created on the earth, Adam and Eve knew with certainty that animals did not have the power of speech. So, when Adam and Eve approached the Tree of Knowledge, what they saw within the branches of that beautiful tree was this magnificent serpent.

Eve approached the tree first. The Bible tells us that Eve saw the fruit of the tree which appeared to be good to eat, though she knew that God had told her that in the day they ate of the fruit of that tree or even touched it, they would surely die. As Eve gazed at the fruit of the tree, the serpent suddenly began to speak, something that probably surprised and to some degree caused Eve to marvel, as she had never before encountered a talking animal anywhere in the Garden. The Bible records the encounter between the serpent and Eve in the third chapter of the book of Genesis.

“The serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;  but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” (Genesis 3:1-6 NKJV)

Notice the nature of Lucifer’s statement. Not only does he call God a liar by telling Eve, “You will not surely die!” but he tells her that the actual reason God doesn’t want them to eat the fruit from this tree is that if they do, their eyes will be opened and they  will “become like God”. What is fascinating about this statement, is that Adam and Eve were already “like God”, They were created in His image and likeness. Moreover, God had already made them the gods of this world.

Story of Adam and Eve – “Adam and Eve Make A Choice” [Transcript]

Now there was an angel God had created and you’ll get into this if you read the story of the “Rebellion of the Angels In Heaven”, whose name was Lucifer. The most beautiful and most powerful of all the angels God created. He was placed above all the angels in stature and abilities and he was probably the closest to God’s throne of any of the created angels. But at one point in time when God announced His plans to create the Earth, Lucifer began a rebellion in Heaven and ultimately go approximately one third of all the angels that God had created to side with him in this rebellion. The purpose of the rebellion was to bring about the change in God’s plan and to create this new race of beings that would ultimately be placed over them.

[Lucifer whose ultimate goal was to “Exalt his throne above the stars of God” ] He was forming a plan on how to bring about the downfall of these newly created beings on planet Earth, Adam and Eve. He was going to try to fulfill his plan of taking God’s place as lord over all creation. But to do so he would have to succeed in destroying God’s plan to create this new race of beings on planet Earth. And he contended now with God that these newly created beings must be given a choice whether to remain loyal to God or to choose a path that Lucifer was offering which was to side with him and his followers in taking a path in rejecting God and his laws and a path instead of becoming their own god with no god over them. Lucifer contended that to keep this choice from Adam and Eve would be arbitrary and dictatorial. And would only serve to prove his intentions that God was unjust. So to silence Lucifer’s accusations and for the sake of righteousness, God would give Adam and Eve the choice of remaining in obedience to Him and living forever or choosing instead the path that Lucifer and his followers had chosen which was to reject the lordship of God over them in exchange for being their own god, a path that would ultimately lead them to eternal death. However to ensure that the test of their loyalty was fair and just, God would determine the circumstances under which Lucifer could present his case to them.

God told Adam and Eve that He had placed two trees in the Garden of Eden for the purpose of giving them a choice of whom they would serve, either God, or themselves. The Tree of Life, whose properties produced fruit that would give their physical bodies immortality, producing for them eternal life. The other tree, The Tree of Knowledge, of good and evil, God prohibited them go near or even touch. Certainly not to eat the fruit. God informed them about the rebellion in Heaven, and about of his adversary Lucifer, and warned them not to go to the Tree of Knowledge, for there alone would he be allowed to test their loyalty to God.

God told Adam and Eve in no uncertain terms, that if they ate the fruit of that tree, or even touched it, it would constitute disobedience to His commands, and that in that very instant, they would “surely die”

Now the death that God was talking about here was not the death of their physical bodies because we know that Adam lived 930 years, but rather the eternal death of their spirits. However, if they passed the test, and stayed true to God, they would be allowed to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life, and they would live forever as the rulers of planet earth, and ultimately be exalted to the position of Kings and Priests over all creation.

Lucifer reasoned that if he could get Adam and Eve to disobey God by eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, he could not only forever thwart the plan of God in exalting this race of beings above him, but he could claim legal spiritual ownership over them and their posterity forever, because they would be siding with him and making him their god instead of the true God thus take Adam’s place as the legal sovereign over planet earth. In short, God who created the planet, would remain its legal owner, but Lucifer would become the legal sovereign over all the affairs of the planet and claim legal ownership of the souls and spirits all mankind. This would mean, that not only would he lord over them all the days of their physical lives on earth, but he would retain legal ownership over their souls and spirits throughout all eternity after they died.

One day before time began, God purposed to create a new and very special world. To inhabit this new world, God would create a race of beings that would hold a special place in His ultimate plans for His creation.

The story of creation as recorded by Moses in the book of Genesis tells us, that in six days, God created the heavens and the Earth. With the creation of our planet, God created a special garden which He called Eden, and from the dust of the ground, God created a man who He called Adam. A part of God’s plan included creating a counterpart for Adam who would be both a companion and helper, as well as a co-laborer with Adam to bring forth children who were to inhabit the earth forever. So, God put Adam into a deep sleep, and from his (Adams’) body, God took a rib. From Adam’s rib, God, (for whom nothing is impossible) created the first woman, whom Adam named Eve.

Now unknown to them at the time, God’s purpose in creating this race of beings, was to one day make them the inheritors of all creation, and to exalt them to the position of Kings and Priests over everything that He had created, everywhere. But before they could receive this incredible inheritance, they would have to prove their loyalty to God, by remaining in unwavering obedience to His laws.
